The REAL Mount Pilot

Pilot Mountain, the town. Not much action on a Sunday afternoon!

At least one business thought they WERE in Mount Pilot, though. Smile

There was nothing much happening in Pilot Mountain on this Sunday afternoon. The REAL Pilot Mountain, though, was doing a brisk business!

You can drive into Pilot Mountain State Park and up the mountain to the summit where there is a very busy parking lot manned by rangers. For each car that leaves, they let one come in.

It took us over a half hour waiting in line to finally get our turn. I think it was the first time Rick wished we had an automatic transmission instead of a stick!

The wait was worth it though. It was hazy but the views were still great.

Tomorrow is laundry and chore day as we prepare to move to Cheraw State Park in South Carolina on Tuesday.

Until then, thanks for stopping by. Turtle

  1. That is a great view. I can see where an automatic would have come in handy:)

  4. I hope its a bit cooler back there for you now. I can't wait until we're just exploring a park again at our leisure! Thanks for dropping by A Camp Host's Meanderings and leaving comments the past month while we were on our North Carolina Odyssey. It was great to stay in touch though I wasn't doing much blog reading.
