Yes, We Are Still Here!

The other day, my mother told me that I had better post something to my blog or people were going to think I fell off the face of the earth :) At the very least, she thought you would think we sold Lucy and moved to Wisconsin! It’s not that we haven’t done anything while here. It’s more like we’ve settled into a routine. The day trips we imagined taking didn’t happen, mostly due to the weather.

Much of our time has been spent visiting and doing things with family. We’ve gone shopping, out to eat, moved furniture, given many tours of Lucy, attended a baby shower, had a few cookouts, hibernated in Lucy when the temps hit the high 90’s with matching humidity and worked on future travel plans. This is the longest we’ve been in one place since starting out.

We also shored up Lucy so she didn’t float away :) it’s rained several inches this past month and the ground became so saturated that our front jacks AND the jack pads sunk several inches into the ground!

Today, daughter Nicole comes to visit for a few days. She has spent the last year studying in Florence, Italy and is just home for the summer. It’s been almost a year since we’ve seen her so I’m ready to go to the airport, and her plane doesn’t get in for several hours! :)

Once Nicole leaves, we will also pack up and leave this area and our family. We have enjoyed every minute of our stay-even with the record breaking temperatures! It seems there’s few places to escape this summer. We will head over to Door County, WI for a few days before slowly heading back toward the south.

I’ll try to be better about posting once we go :)

We just left WI last couple weeks and never saw rain. I'm glad you're ok. I'm glad you're having a great time with family.

  5. Go west young woman.....go west. It's cool in more ways than one in Wyoming. But of course your daughter isn't there and I know you will love spending time with her.
