More Visiting, More Rhubarb and a Little Wine-ing :)

It’s hard to believe that we have been parked at my sister, Sheila and brother-in-law, Vern’s house for 12 days today. Time is just flying by. I just realized that I didn’t take any pictures of Lucy in her spot but I do have a picture of our neighbors that we see every evening right outside our door.

Sheila and Vern have a beautiful place in the country with several acres including this pond that attracts deer every evening. It’s quiet and peaceful; it’s no wonder they love living here. We tease them that the neighborhood is going downhill, now that the trailer trash neighbors have moved in Smile

One of the perks to “living” here is having access to their rhubarb patch. You all know how much I love rhubarb! Well, the other day, I got an email from an old school friend who had noticed we were back in Wisconsin where rhubarb is plentiful. She sent me a recipe for a rhubarb custard tart that she makes. This turned out to be my new favorite rhubarb anything! It was fantastic! Thanks Sue!

We finally got to meet the newest member of the family, Emma. Emma is my nephew, Randy and his wife, Kathy’s little girl and she is a doll! We had a cookout over the weekend and Emma joined right in…no fussing, no crying…just being cute Smile

Isn’t she a doll?

Sheila and I joined my cousin, Penny and our friend Marcia for a little winery touring last Saturday. Penny and Marsha surprised Sheila by wearing shirts with her picture on them.

We had a great time!

That’s all I’ve got for today. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Emma is a real cutie. I have so many deer pictures, I am almost forbidden from taking more. Almost:)

  2. What a great time!! If you don't mind email me that rhubarb recipe. I love rhubarb and we're in Wisc. (we're in oconto). Good to see a post and knowing your still with family. Have fun!

  3. Sounds like you are enjoying a great family visit!!

How about sharing that rhubarb recipe;o)) I find it somewhere!!

  4. Glad you are having a nice visit. We did a little wine ing ourselves today.

  5. I keep forgetting about rhubarb until I read your posts. We'll be visiting my brother in Illinois this summer. Hopefully he still has some rhubarb in his garden that I can snatch up for a pie.

Gotta love a wine glass that's bigger than your head! :-)

  6. Time flies when you're having a good time they say and it sure looks like you are!

  7. Wow, that place of Sheila and Vern's looks fabulous. Enjoy! (Those pies looked pretty good too.)

  8. That looks like so much fun!! Glad you're having a good time.

  9. love the pics, love the wine glass...can live without the rhubarb-got into it as a child with a cousin..thinking it was celery (was still on the plant)...used a sugar bowl to dip it in..thought we were pulling a fast one...was sick for days..lol
travel safe and enjoy your family!!

I would love to hear from you! Please leave a comment.
