It’s the holiday season!

No, I didn’t go shopping on Black Friday, unless you count a quick run to Kroger :)  In fact, I’m done with my Christmas shopping so going out there would only tempt me to spend money. But, I did drag the tree and a few other things out of the attic. It is time to spruce this place up for the holidays. I didn’t want to put up too much (I used to do 4 trees!) as we are leaving right after Christmas for Mexico for a week. But, it just wouldn’t be Christmas without something :)

Holiday2008

This is it for this year! One of these years, we’ll be in our RV and won’t have room for much of anything. We’ll have to plan for that.

Giving Thanks

It’s been quite a year and even though the financial markets have left us in a less than desirable position so close to retirement, we have so much to be thankful for. We’re healthy, we’re happy and we have JOBS which is a lot more than many people. If we continue with these things, we’ll be just fine.

We spent Thanksgiving celebrating with friends. Great food, great company, great food, great food, great food :)

A new hobby-maybe?

Digital scrapbooking! Very cool. I’m not sure what inspired me, but over the weekend I found some quick pages online and started playing. Here is what I created. Pretty cool, huh?Lily

Daylight Standard Time and going home

Turning the clocks back before we went to bed last night worked temporarily to give us another hour. We left Nashville at 8:15 AM but lost our found hour around Knoxville when we returned to Eastern time. We arrived home at 5:30 PM. We made good time but sure are tired. Seeing Lily, Patrick and Maggie was well worth it though!
